Given the fact that in 2007 Sibiu became the European Capital of Culture, major modernization and development projects were carried out in order to ensure numerous entry possibilities in the country that would meet the international standards. The terminal that CON-A built is structured on two levels and allows the process of 300 passengers/hour per each flow. The airport includes, besides processing facilities of passenger and luggage flows (for both EU and non-EU), properly equipped waiting rooms, offices for the airline companies, commercial areas and a 300 spaces parking.

The terminal structure consists of concrete columns with spacing made of metallic elements on the upper part, achieving a fluent space with generous openings. The exterior glass walls and skylights provide natural light. The new control tower, the main element of the entire building, is made of monolith concrete diaphragms. This structure made possible reaching the height of 35 m, as requested by the project.
