The Multipurpose Hall in Cluj-Napoca is the largest and most modern facility of its kind in Romania, distinguished by its design and cutting-edge technologies. The building is constructed according to national and international standards, thus attracting a large number of events and sports competitions to Cluj-Napoca.
Upon its inauguration in 2014, it became the largest multipurpose hall in Romania, and with its capacity expanded to over 10,000 seats in 2017, it hosted the European Basketball Championship. The spatial assembly trusses of the roof have a free span between the supports’ axes of 63.90 m and 76.00 m after assembly, being the metal trusses with the largest free span built in the country at the moment. The solar and photovoltaic panels that allow for the powering of the building’s safety lighting are the most efficient installed in the country. The building is equipped with a rainwater collection system, which is reused for sanitary facilities.
The hall includes sports and technical annexes, with complementary public catering facilities, rentable commercial spaces, and a generous underground parking. The retractable stands allow for the modification of the playing surface depending on the hosted activity.
