The consortium CONA SRL – CONA Operations SRL – Drum Inserv SRL has successfully completed the construction works of the bridge over the Olt River, located on county road DJ 105 (km 0+660), at the exit of Voila commune, Brașov County.
The project was initiated by the Brașov County Council, as part of the National Program for Local Development – Stage II (PNDL II), and plays a vital role in ensuring connectivity between the localities of Cincșor and Cincu (right bank of the Olt) and DN1, while also facilitating access to the NATO training base in Cincu.
Key technical specifications:
- Total length: 93.95 m
- Main span: 70.96 m
- Total width: 13.5 m (7.6 m carriageway + two sidewalks of 1.5 m each)
- Structure: steel arch bridge with the deck positioned at mid-height, vertical hangers, and a composite deck consisting of steel girders with solid webs and a concrete slab.
- Foundations: 2 abutments on 32 bored piles
- Steel in the load-bearing structure: 444 tons
- Designed lifespan: 100 years
Following the implosion of the old bridge (September 2023), the CONA teams carried out the design and construction of the foundations between August and November 2024. Subsequently, the superstructure and related infrastructure works were completed. The project was finalized one month ahead of the contractual deadline, and the bridge was successfully tested with both static and dynamic tries. The entire load-bearing structure was manufactured by CONA’s own factories.
The official inauguration took place on July 4, 2025, in the presence of representatives of local and county authorities, as well as project design, execution, and supervision teams. The completion of this bridge marks not only a technical achievement but also a major step in the development of Brașov County’s infrastructure — a project that CONA is proud to have contributed to.
